Figure Skaters have long been looking for effective fall protection, but have disliked the bulk and restriction of mobility associated with the pads available to them. Restrictive, tight, elastic pants with pockets and thick foam pads were all that they had to choose from. With the exception of SkatingSafe's pads, that is still true.
The UltraCrash™ Pads (Hip, Spine & Knee) are thin, light weight and require no special garment to hold them in position. They are anatomically shaped, made of a softer form of the same polymer and have a very strong and extremely flexible vinyl covering. UltraCrash™ Pads are available in different shapes and sizes to meet the skaters fall protection needs. These pads are expected to last for years of daily use.
These pads are very thin and require no retention pants to hold them in position. They are worn under two pairs of tights and are almost unnoticeable. This has made them very popular among young skaters, who want the protection, but will not accept the appearance that other hip pads have.
The material used to construct SkatingSafe Fall Protection Pads is unsurpassed in its impact energy absorbing characteristics. It is and has been used in many products, unrelated to figure skating, as a shock absorber since 1975.
